We are leaving for a new journey, for One of the most beautiful and colorful coffee lands: Guatemala . So extraordinary and rich in history, ancient traditions, and nature that it's impossible not to be captivated. For a memorable experience, we suggest you travel light: eyes to dream, a notebook to jot down the wonders of this corner of the world, and of course, your favorite cup for a tasty break.

Guatemala: Traveling to Must-See Places and Magical Landscapes

Are you ready to venture into one of Latin America's most beautiful countries? Here are the stops for an unforgettable travel itinerary.

Antigua

A colonial city and one of the most visited cultural centers, Antigua is known for its ancient ruins of churches and important historical buildings, but that's not all. In fact, just stop at one of the lively bars to enjoy the view of truly unique natural landscapes, dotted with volcanoes on whose fertile slopes stand fragrant coffee plantations. For a truly intense sensory experience, we recommend visit the fincas of coffee Just outside the city, plantations belong to small communities of local families who continue to pass down – from generation to generation – knowledge and traditions on the cultivation of this plant. And it is precisely in this valley – between 1,500 and 1,800 meters above sea level – that Caffè Milani's Puro Guatemala is grown, hand-crafted using the method washed, grain after grain.

Tikal

Arriving in this location, you will be able to admire the archaeological park Guatemala's most famous and evocative. You'll feel like you've traveled back in time, where the ancient Mayan civilization—between 200 and 900 AD—built great pyramids in honor of the kings who shaped history. Equally fascinating are the towering temples, grand royal palaces, and carved stelae depicting ancient deities, all surrounded by dense tropical vegetation.

Guatemala City

Guatemalan capital and one of the most populous metropolises in Central America, this city is known for its Colorful historic center with colonial charm . Its checkerboard layout helps tourists explore without getting lost; its lively atmosphere makes it somewhat chaotic, but it's undoubtedly a cultural destination not to be missed. Must-sees: the Miraflores Museum and the Archaeological Museum to learn about ancient Mayan traditions.

Quetzaltenango

Also known as Xela , Quetzaltenango, presents itself to travelers with all its hospitality and its wonderful natural surroundings. Located approximately 200 km west of the capital, this town represents one of the cultural hearts of the country. Not only that, it is an excellent starting point for excursions to enchanting places such as the hot springs of Fountains Georginas in the heart of a verdant valley and the Laguna Chicabal, a lake in the crater of a volcano.

Water landscapes: Lake Atitlán, Rio Dulce, Semuc Champey and Monterrico

It certainly can't be said that this country has a shortage of breathtaking views. In fact, to the cities, archaeological sites, and volcanoes, there's the beauty of Lake Atitlán. – of volcanic origin – much loved by spirituality enthusiasts and the enchanting Rio Dulce It runs through the tropical forest, from Lake Izibal to the Atlantic Ocean. Here, you can observe some unique animal species, such as manatees. Also not to be missed are the natural pools of Semuc Champey, nestled in the dense vegetation, and the limestone bridge over the Cahabón River.

The scenery changes in Monterrico, a town not far from Antigua, famous for its enchanting black sand beaches. Surfers will find the perfect wave here.

When to travel to Guatemala

A thoughtful traveler knows the best time to explore a new land. Here's some useful information to consider if you're planning your trip to Guatemala. From December to April and from June to July, the influx of tourists is certainly greater than at other times of the year. These months offer mild weather, clear days, and a wealth of nature to explore. However, May, August, and September are very rainy, and October is highly prone to hurricanes. By November, the rains will begin to ease and the sun will return, offering visitors the perfect season for trekking in the Highlands.

To make your trip to Guatemala an opportunity to experience one of the most important local traditions—the harvesting and processing of coffee—you'll want to choose a time between September and April. It's one of the richest and most sensorial experiences you can have, discovering everything there is to know about the production process, from plant to cup.
