Let's discover India, traveling among its most beautiful destinations

You can start planning your tour of India and breathe in the atmosphere that reigns in this country so rich in nuances. To do so, we would like to tell you about the most significant stops, some of which are particularly evocative due to their intense aroma, such as the coffee plantations where it grows. Pure India Monsoon Malabar Caffè Milani, full-bodied and bold, with spicy notes of black pepper. You can begin to savor it, imagining this land and marking its most beautiful destinations on your map.

So, are you ready to discover India? Have a good trip!

Delhi, the center

This destination is among the country's top destinations, both because it is the capital and for its vibrant life and charm, evident in the contrast between the city's oldest and most modern parts. While visiting this vast and chaotic metropolis, you'll see mosques, monuments, colonial buildings, and museums. We particularly recommend the Chandni Chowk area, where you can stroll through the oldest neighborhoods and some of the country's most evocative landmarks. These include the Red Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site; the Victorian Qutub Minar tower; the Rashtrapati Bhawan presidential palace; the Raj Ghat where Gandhi was cremated in 1948; the great Jama Masjid mosque; and the Akshardham and Lotus temples.

Agra and the Taj Mahal

In northern India, the city of Agra shines, known for its imposing and famous Taj Mahal. Considered one of the seven wonders of the world, this mausoleum is a symbol of eternal love. It was built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is certainly one of the most important places to visit during your trip to India.

Jaipur, the pink city

Located south of New Delhi, it presents itself as a city where modern and ancient blend into a single style, easily discovering all its charm and eccentricities. One of these concerns the color of the buildings chosen by Maharaja Ram Singh, who feared that the reflection of the sun on the white facades might disturb the vision of the Prince of Wales during his visit to the city in 1876.

Varanasi, the sacred city

On the banks of the Ganges River lies Varanasi, a city recognized as a place of worship for the entire Hindu population. Indeed, it is home to the ancient Hindu temple of Kashi Vishwanath, the Dashashwamedh Ghat—a grand staircase where the most important religious ceremonies are held—and the Manikarnika Ghat, known for Hindu cremations. Furthermore, the Ganges River collects the waters where many—every day—immerse themselves to purify themselves and where funeral ceremonies are held where the ashes of the deceased are scattered.

Mumbai

Traveling to central India, on the coast, you'll find this vast metropolis characterized by a stark contrast between tradition and innovation. Of particular interest are the 7th-century Elephanta Caves, the ancient rock-cut temples of Kanheri, and—jumping forward to the present—the Bollywood film studios.

Goa and its golden beaches

Every traveler deserves a relaxing break, and Goa's beaches—like Agonda and Cavelossim—are undoubtedly enchanting places to enjoy the sea in all its beauty. Those who enjoy sports can also enjoy windsurfing and water skiing, while lovers of pristine landscapes can immerse themselves in nature at the splendid Dudhsagar waterfalls. Also not to be missed are the caves, known for their beautiful sculptures, such as those of Arvalem and Lamgau.

Bangalore, capital of the Karnataka region

Located in southern India, this city deserves a stop to visit its historic center. During this stop on the tour, you can visit the gardens of Cubbon Park and Lalbagh, the Bangalore Fort, and several palaces and temples, places of culture and ancient traditions. Furthermore, the Karnataka region is known as the site of the first Indian coffee harvest in 1700 and where today production accounts for about half of the country's total, in the varieties – Arabica and Robusta – with truly special aromas and fragrances.

Speaking of coffee, one of the symbols of India – and of Karnataka in particular – is Bada Budan Hill, whose name recalls the Indian pilgrim who, according to legend, in 1670, during a trip to Arabia, took seven Koffea seeds with him and had them sown upon his return, giving life to the first seven Asian coffee plants.

State of Kerala

Rich in lakes, waterfalls, and rivers, the state of Kerala is dominated by jungle and dotted with farming and fishing villages. The temperate climate and monsoon rains favor coffee cultivation, as the plants grow within the forest, protected from both winds and the sun's excessive heat. This explains the presence of numerous coffee plantations, producing a very high-quality product and accounting for approximately 30% of India's total production.

India at the table

Before you know When it comes to what to eat in India , it's important to be aware of one particular custom: eating with your hands, usually the right one, which is also used to greet other diners. Additionally—and only with certain foods—you can use bread to help you scoop up food on your plate.

Let's now find out what Indian foods you can taste during your trip, through a short list of some tasty dishes - vegetarian or chicken-based - all very spicy.

  • Biryani Rice : A dish of basmati rice with vegetables sautéed in a pan with onion and spices, then seasoned with lemon juice and placed on top of the separately cooked rice.
  • Dahl : a dish made from pureed red lentils with added saffron, enjoyed by spreading it on bread.
  • Thayir sadam : Basmati rice to which spiced yogurt is added at the end of cooking; you can make the dish even tastier by adding dahl.
  • Thali : A complete meal with bread and rice, accompanied by sauces, soups, and vegetables. Also very good with chicken.
  • Aloo Tikki : Vegetable balls.

Also remember to always favor hot, well-cooked foods and bottled water from safe sources. Also, keep in mind that in India, the cow is a sacred animal, so you won't find many meat-based dishes, except for chicken, which is the main ingredient in many recipes. However, if you have a sweet tooth, you can try several, including Malpua—a fried batter with sugar and rosewater—and Rabri, a milk-based dish flavored with cardamom and saffron, and sprinkled with chopped dried fruit.

On the go with a good cup of Indian coffee

A cup of coffee is always a good way to end a meal or take a break during the day. Also highly appreciated in India, as you travel through its ancient cities and enchanting landscapes, you can sip Kaapi—Indian coffee—while sitting at a café table. Meanwhile, while you wait for this experience, you can enjoy an excellent single-origin coffee. India by Caffè Milani and savor its intense aroma until the last drop.
