Structure and collections
Esposizione stands out for its modern architecture, characterized by large windows and metal structures that give the space a brightness, lightness, and modernity.
These architectural elements blend with natural materials, such as wood and jute sacks, used for the transport of green beans, outlining a sense of continuity in the journey of coffee from its countries of origin to the roasting plant in Lipomo (CO).
Over 200 preparation tools used throughout the world for domestic coffee extraction, dating back to the 1700s, are on display here.
The collection includes professional coffee machines ranging from the first steam-powered versions of the 20th century to the lever machines of the 1950s and the current technologies found in cafés throughout Italy. A large wall displays a selection of over 700 espresso cups, which have themselves become testaments to the evolution of design and the growth of coffee consumption.
From the greenhouse to the library
At the Caffè Milani Exhibition Center, you can admire a greenhouse with coffee plants and tropical plants, learn some basic botany, and discover the origins and characteristics of the beans.
A special area that will capture your attention is dedicated to the women who make an essential contribution throughout the long coffee supply chain, especially in the harvesting of the drupes, the fruit of the coffee plant, and in selecting the best beans.
You can then proceed to the library, where you can deepen your knowledge through unique books and documents on coffee, and uncover anecdotes about the drink.
A unique and customizable experience
You can choose your own guided tour, through the various itineraries offered by the company, choosing to start by sipping an espresso and then explore the machines and plantations, or vice versa. The entire experience is designed to suit individual interests, emphasizing how every exhibit reflects the Milani family's 87-year-old passion for coffee.
